Lesson Highlights

  • All the blessings we desire are included within this portion
  • The Rav refers to this portion as our antidote: The 98 Curses have within them the protection against them
  • The numerical value of "98" is the same as Slach (to cleanse): Inherent in the 98 Curses is our chance for cleansing
  • Accepting that all of our negativity as well as blessings come from the Light
  • The Light gives us the gift of negativity to enable us to earn more by transforming it: The curses are vessels to reveal Light
  • Learning to judge things by their final destination
  • Transforming negativity into positivity: The highest level of repentance
  • Feeling the pain of others
  • Taking the pain of others onto ourselves as the Tzadikim (Righteous Souls) did
  • Accepting the negativity we created and viewing it as an opportunity for the Light to give us more
  • Our negativity is not our final destination
  • Accepting our negativity as a tool for transformation
  • Examining where the residual of past negativity remains in our present and where we are still carrying the influence of that negativity
  • Repentance requires replaying the cassette and injecting restriction
  • Completing the repentance process with a commitment to change
  • Holding on to the final destination of total transformation

Lesson Description

Eitan raises our consciousness and our spirits with the assurance that our final destination of total transformation has been set before us. Just like the curses recorded in the portion of Ki Tavo contain infinite blessings, so too are the opportunties to reveal the greatest Light embedded in our negativity. Eitan shows us how the process of repentance is the road to receiving more on our way to that final destination and how we are guaranteed to get there.
