Rav Berg decodes the paradoxical notion of shemitah, the Torah precept to leave agricultural fields fallow on the seventh year, by drawing on a basic principle from Rav Ashlag’s Ten Luminous Emanations: “what is more [physical] is less.” The Rav goes on to explain that an increase in the physical realm indicates a loss in the spiritual realm, unless it is for the sake of sharing.
