Then there is another, much louder voice, the voice of the Desire to Receive for the Self Alone. This voice says, “Go ahead. Big deal…it’s only once…it’s not going to bother you. Take a little extra…cheat a bit, your partner won’t know the difference...”
The question we need to ask ourselves is this: What is it that we want out of life in the end? Is it a few moments of pleasure that we want, or is it the spiritual elevation that come with being victorious against temptation?
Many great things in this world start with a few people against the many. If you look at any movement that has had a significant positive impact on this world, it usually started with one or two individuals who decided to challenge the status quo and think differently than the rest.
