We’ve heard it said over and over again that we are living in “unprecedented times.” With so much turmoil in the world, it’s easy to feel lost, scared, or unclear about the future. Nothing steals joy and happiness from our lives as much as fear and uncertainty. But there is a way to find peace in the chaos. The key to this is through removing doubt and strengthening our connection with the Creator.
How do we transform our fears into unwavering certainty that every obstacle we encounter is meant for us to learn and grow from? Here are 3 tips to help find certainty in uncertain times:
1. Be mindful of negative thoughts about yourself and others.
Negative thoughts pollute our minds and make it much harder for us to find clarity and certainty. In order for our minds to be strong and certain and at peace, we have to cleanse our minds and protect our consciousness from negative thoughts.
Check in with yourself each day. Ask yourself: how many thoughts did I have today that were not positive or kind or supportive? How many thoughts of doubt, fear, or anger? Be aware of the negative thoughts that are coming into your mind and actively work to resist them. The more you take this seriously, the more you can start to achieve peace when there is chaos around you.
2. Trust that you are where you need to be in order to grow.
We often try to plan and direct our lives for what we think is best for us, and when something happens outside of our plan, we are taken aback. There is a powerful spiritual reason that things don’t always go the way we want. The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches that we are meant to be in a constant state of growth and change in order to become even greater, better, and more fulfilled. Things don’t go the way we intend because they are meant to change us and elevate us so that our greater potential becomes revealed.
Everything that happens in the world, even pandemics and wars, provides important opportunities for each of us to learn, grow, and change. Everything in our lives is perfectly created so we can bring forth and manifest a greater version of ourselves, even if we can’t understand the specifics of how a situation transforms us.
When things are difficult or confusing, understand they are perfect for you and created in such a way to bring out greater power, happiness, and wisdom than you are currently manifesting. Know that the Light of the Creator is involved in this, it is exactly what the Creator has prepared for you, and the Light in the situation will transform you. Sometimes the things you don’t want end up being better for you than the things you do!
3. Practice with the smaller problems to help with the larger ones.
We all have moments we can’t make sense of what is going on in our lives and in the world. Finding and maintaining peace through these struggles does not happen overnight – it’s a process that we must constantly work at developing. If we focus and work towards it, we can achieve a life where we feel certainty and peace, even when others experience chaos and uncertainty.
Practice with the small problems. When you are stuck in traffic or a stranger makes a rude comment, practice staying calm and centered, resist negative thoughts, and trust that you were meant to be placed in that scenario by the Creator. The more you work at this with the small problems, the easier it will be when the bigger challenges occur. People will be surprised how much happier, fulfilled, and at peace you are.
Living a life of peace and certainty, even in the face of chaos, is not only possible but is something we are all meant to experience. It requires us to diminish our doubt and build total trust in the Creator. It starts with being aware of our negative thoughts and actively working to fight against them, understanding that there is a blessing in every situation and that it takes time, work, and practice to reach a level of total certainty.
Life is uncertain and unpredictable. The only guarantee we have in life is our connection with the Creator.
