The month of Libra contains the kabbalistic festivities of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Simchat Torah. Rav Berg used to call them the “Days of Power” since they are cosmic openings that help us organize our year, remove judgment, and through consciousness, rewrite our future on a blank page. This process reaches its culmination this week, which contains the energy of Beresheet.

This first portion of the five books of Moses begins a cycle that lasts one year. The chapter shares the principle of Creation, which represents an opportunity to sow the right seeds for a fresh start to the New Year. However, each year the portion of Beresheet falls in the last quarter when the relationship of the sun and the moon is in its final phase. This is a time of completion and closing. Therefore, this week brings together two opposite principles: the beginning and the end. As we look more closely, we can see that it is all an illusion since cycles are always united and, in truth, there is always continuity. Rav Berg taught that in places where there is duality, there is Light and truth.

It should not be overlooked that the month of Libra is connected with relationships. This gives us the opportunity to heal and reestablish our connections with ourselves, with the Creator, and with our fellow human beings. The cosmic openings of this month give us the opportunity to be a part of this work. However, we can always do more, and we must take advantage of the energy in these last days in Libra to work on nurturing our ties, being more diplomatic, teaming up, being better companions, opening ourselves to support from others, seeking harmony, and having a good disposition.

The last quarter phase also gives us the opportunity to plan our next kabbalistic month: Cheshvan. The New Moon of Scorpio, a water sign, brings emotion, intensity, and possibly jealousy. It gives us the opportunity to analyze and reflect on the areas of our lives in which we must let go of control and trust more in the Light of the Creator. The days of this week help us to prepare so we can make the best of the following month.

Regarding the planetary configuration of the week, we have five celestial bodies in air: the sun in Libra, Mercury in Libra, Mars in Libra, Jupiter in Aquarius, and Saturn in Aquarius. This energy will influence us to be more cerebral, social, agile, abstract, communicative, intellectual, eloquent, and rational. During this period, it is possible that we act in a more cold and detached way. We can tend to be scattered, and it may also be difficult for us to ground our ideas, manifest, and in general, keep our feet on the ground. Our minds may be in constant activity, which can affect our concentration and rest; we will have to make an effort to control it and not let it control us.

Despite being difficult, it is recommended that we meditate to be able to focus better. Also, challenge your mind with games of skill to keep it occupied with something positive. Make the effort to connect with the emotional parts, injecting enthusiasm and passion. The energy of this week will also assist us in acting with leadership and initiative, as well as perseverance. You have to be careful not to be rigid and be open to change. Be flexible and adapt—this will help the energy flow through the week.

Right now, there are five planets in retrograde: Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. On the 27th, Mercury also begins its retrogradation process. In actuality, planets always move forward, but due to an optical illusion from Earth's perspective, they appear to be going backward. As a consequence, this energetic effect prevents the planet from diligently fulfilling its functions and tends to exaggerate or minimize its qualities. In addition, the planets that are in this situation have a karmic tonality, meaning they have a link with the past, which opens up the option of making a correction and having a second chance. Some experiences from this period occur to teach us and help us learn something. Pay more attention not to miss this great opportunity to correct.

Mercury is an everyday planet that influences us on a daily basis, and its functions are basic for humans. It represents the manifestation of intelligence and stimulates the ability to analyze, discern, speak, listen, discuss, communicate, write, study, and learn, among other things. Being in retrograde, its effect is: confusion, misunderstandings, errors, lack of clarity, a tendency to exaggerate in communication, to be repetitive, or not to speak. Other common events are communication problems (in general and with any device related to it, such as telephones, computers, etc.) It also affects the operation of transport and roads, causing traffic issues and conflicts in travel. We must be cautious, patient, and attentive; go the extra mile to prevent any errors, delays, and confusion. The gift of Mercury Retrograde is precisely to return and do something for the second, third, or fourth time because under this influence, we can be victorious. We can reread that book that we did not understand in the past or take the exam that we did not pass before.

On Sunday and Monday, the moon passes through Gemini. The key these days is communication and the exchange of ideas. There is a tendency to feel more adapted, curious, and versatile. They are excellent days to communicate, learn, and challenge our minds. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the moon is in Cancer, a water sign that contributes its energy to this week. As we mentioned before, there are many planets in air and earth signs and few planets in water and fire. These days in the sign of Cancer bring sensitivity and empathy, vulnerability and emotionality, bringing balance to the week. These days are beneficial to strengthen family ties and any activity at home. For the weekend, we have the moon in Leo, bringing that missing fire energy which connects us with enthusiasm, creativity, passion, intuition, and fun. These days we can seek recognition and feel like the center of attention. Inject humility, and the energy will flow in your favor.
