We are living through one of the most important moments in astrology, that is a planet’s change from one sign to another. This time, the planet has an outsize impact, given it takes years to change signs. We’re talking about Pluto, which has been in the sign of Capricorn since 2008 and, last March 23rd, 2023, moved into the sign of Aquarius for the first time in 248 years. Then, on June 11th, it returned to Capricorn, and now, on January 20th, 2024, it entered Aquarius yet again. September 3rd, it will return one last time to Capricorn before finally entering and remaining in Aquarius from November 20th on.

To understand these movements, we need to understand who Pluto is. Pluto is the planet of transformation and regeneration. It is associated with death and rebirth, as well as deep introspection. Astrologers believe Pluto’s placement reveals aspects subject to meaningful change and spiritual renewal. Pluto gives us big opportunities to change. Nevertheless, the way it comes is not easy.

“When dealing with Pluto, the best approach is to accept its rule and go with the flow.”

Pluto is considered the king of the underworld. His transformations happen through force and under the pressure of breaking. Despite doing good things for us, these changes are so hard they often bring us to the loss or undoing of our identity. This gives us space to rebuild ourselves. When dealing with Pluto, the best approach is to accept its rule and go with the flow. Accept processes and know that, within them, there is Light.

As we said, Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008, influencing the economic and financial realm. We’ve seen huge changes in our relationships with leaders and authority figures and also in our perception of hierarchies. There have been abrupt changes in authoritarian and rigid systems, which lost power and influence in recent years. Pluto has affected the economy, too. It challenged excessive consumerism and control over production lines.

Now, Pluto will remain in Aquarius for nineteen years, where it will focus on social changes. Aquarius is the sign of progress and social evolution. We’ll see a lot of innovation in technology and even greater development than now. Beware that we may abuse these technological advances. Control and security will be increasingly technological, and humans will be less and less relevant. Technology will supplant humans in many areas. In fact, the last time Pluto was in Aquarius, the Industrial Revolution happened.

“Aquarius is the sign of progress and social evolution.”

Aquarius is a highly intellectual and even genius air sign that will welcome new belief systems. Expect new discoveries and ways of seeing life. There will be a tendency toward free thinking, and the mind will be more important than the heart, with a greater focus on knowledge and enlightened social consciousness. We may be before a war of thoughts in which groups try to impose political and social ideologies on each other.

Like the Industrial Revolution, the French Revolution also happened under the energy of Pluto in Aquarius, meaning we can expect more revolutionary attitudes. Rebellions may be confused with the quest for equality, freedom, and fraternity. Society will become more important than the individual, and we will seek independence and autonomy.

Pluto’s entry to Aquarius yesterday is accompanied by the sun’s entry to the same sign. This will give its energy greater visibility and intensity. It’s time for us to be open and flow in these times of change. We must understand that the Light is always in the process, and change is ultimately part of the blessing.

“We must understand that the Light is always in the process.”

As if this impactful change weren’t enough, we have the Full Moon of the month of Aquarius, the high point of this month, during which the sun in Aquarius will stand before the moon in Leo. This happens on January 25th, what we know as Tu B’Shevat. This moment represents balance, namely in the relationship between these two great luminaries who find themselves in harmony and balance. It’s a moment of success and exaltation, so activities that grant us social exposure are highly recommended, like openings and parties. Kabbalistically, Tu B’Shevat is the new year of the vegetative kingdom, and it gifts us the ability to overcome the force of gravity, that energy pulling us down called the Desire to Receive.

At this point in time, the sun is in Aquarius, seeking equality and a commitment to helping others. It is in complete harmony with the moon in Leo, which reminds us to preserve the connection with our own divine spark. Adding the power of the week of Beshalach, which gives us the power of the 72 Names, we will have the ability to go beyond our limitations, of not only connecting with our source and the divine power of the Creator and our soul but manifesting it, as well.
