There are 85 verses in this week's portion. The number 85 is pe hei, which means “mouth” and is the level of Malchut. As Mercury continues its retrograde motion, we need to be careful of the information we release into the world this week. Be mindful of what you speak and what you think. We are only here for the purpose of creating some relief from chaos. This is a week of information. It’s our responsibility to do good with it.

This week's portion begins with Vayechi Yaakov… or “Jacob lived…” The Zohar explains that up until this time, Jacob did not feel that he was alive because he felt he lost his son Joseph. He had thought Joseph was dead, then suddenly he reappeared! Now Jacob was alive. Rav Berg explained that just because we can function and breathe doesn’t mean we are alive. Consider a robot—they can move but have no vibrancy. We can act this way in our lives sometimes.
This week’s reading brings the energy of unity between our thoughts and our speech. It is one continued reading with no separation between the last paragraph and the new following one. This represents no end of events but rather the continuity of life. This continuous access to the Lightforce of the Creator infuses our immune systems. When there is Light, darkness cannot coexist, and we can eliminate chaos. Everything affects everything. It’s all about unity this week!
There are five books of Moses. The first one is Keter, and we are still working through it—the seed book. Therefore, we have the opportunity this week (not next week!) to change things on the seed level. The portion continues to say that Joseph could no longer contain himself. He asked everybody else to leave the room and revealed to his brothers that he was, indeed, Joseph. Now that he had become second in charge to Pharaoh, Joseph explained to his brothers that all that happened came directly from the Creator. Joseph could assist with the famine that was coming and sustain the entire world.

Then Joseph asked that his father be brought down to him. Jacob came and was reunited with Joseph in this week. Energetically and astrologically speaking, this is the time to achieve our goals like Joseph achieved his. We can be in total unity with the Light. With Mercury still in retrograde in Capricorn, this is an opportunity to clean old paths and take a different approach to old problems. Give yourself some time to get on the right path. With the sun joining Capricorn this week and conjunct Mercury in Capricorn, it's a great time for manifestation. With the Full Moon of Cancer approaching next week, now is the time to focus on what matters the most. Take care of yourself emotionally in healthy and positive ways.
