Rav Berg explains that on Yom Kippur we connect to the light of Binah, providing us with good health, happiness, and all forms of positivity. By fasting on Yom Kippur, we restrict our body consciousness, which is connected to the Desire to Receive for the Self Alone, and thereby build the vessel we need to hold that light of Binah for the year to come.
