This week, we study the portion of Shlach Lecha, which tells the story of when the leaders of the tribes of Israel visited the Promised Land. Despite Moshe's warnings to the leaders about the journey ahead, they decide to focus on what is negative about the place and even about themselves. When reporting upon their return, they say, "Compared to the natives of Canaan, we are small as grasshoppers." The part I find so interesting is that they use criticism and manipulation to scare the Israelites. First, they speak the truth, telling of the wonders of the site. But later, they begin to slander what they praised, giving an altered report. This is how they convince the tribes that it is impossible to enter the Land of Israel.

This story is a perfect map to understanding the energy of this week with the sun in Gemini. Mercury is the planet of the mind, ideas, and above all, communication, entering this sign on the 13th. Of all the signs, Gemini is the best at communication, containing all this Mercury energy. Geminis have a great talent for expressing what they think and exchanging ideas. For the twins, communication is a favorite activity. They are eloquent, well-articulated, and have a great talent for persuading others.

Part of a Gemini’s correction is to be careful with their words and use them constructively. During this month, it can be very easy to fall into lashon hara, negative speech—that is, speaking ill of others, gossiping, or defaming those around you. My biggest advice this month is to have care with your words because the line is very easy to cross. Let's learn from the history of the Israelite spies and pay more attention to restricting what comes out of our mouths.

Something to note about this period is that we have five planets in their regency, which is the best position for each of them. From this place, the planets are stronger and can do their jobs better; they are more functional. Let's look at each celestial body in particular.

● Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and benefits us in the area of communication, eloquence, and intelligence. It favors study and the exhibition of ideas.

● Venus is the ruler of Taurus, the planet of beauty and love. Venus is happy in this sign, opening us to desire, enjoyment, and pleasure from the beauty of the physical world. Venus in Taurus can be faithful, romantic, and sensual, as well as poetic and graceful.

● Mars, the planet of war, is in Aries, a place that strengthens it. It can move us to act quickly and forcefully, but also individualistically. Mars in Aries is like an energy source. We may feel full of energy, desire, and willpower. Take care not to be too reactive, impulsive, or aggressive. Mars in Aries seeks war. Be careful not to fall into this inertia.

● Saturn is in Aquarius and seeks rebellion and freedom from any ties. The energy is altruistic and concerned with the common good, a social utopia. But interpersonal relationships are difficult, especially on an intimate level.

● And finally, Neptune in Pisces helps us to dream. We may find our imaginations are stronger.

Right now, all of these planets are giving us their best. Let's take advantage of their energies by revealing the best within ourselves.

This week dominates the element of air, which helps us with flexibility, sociability, intelligence, and communication. Air is cold and detached, and there is little energy from the rest of the elements in the planetary composition.

There is a lack of:

● Water, which makes us lack emotion and sensitivity.

● Fire, which normally helps with intuition, enthusiasm, and optimism.

● Earth, which gives us practicality and common sense.

This week, the element of air can make us fly with great ideas far from reality. It may keep us busy with our thoughts, becoming doubtful, ready for change, or controlled by our intellect. Try to embrace practicality, warmth, and enthusiasm.

At the beginning of the week, we continue in the lunar phase of the first quarter, which still gives us the opportunity for beginning things, although the most optimum time is during the New Moon. The first quarter is a second option for the start of any activity or project. In addition to being the best time to make decisions and promote a project or activity, under this lunar phase, we have more willpower. On June 14th, we will experience the Full Moon, a moment of balance where two opposites meet in a moment of equality and harmony.

The sun from its place shines with all its splendor, sending all its energy to the moon to create a unique energy in the month. This is definitely the best time to express ourselves, throw a party, or make an inauguration. Activities with the public are greatly benefited. From this moment, it is not recommended to start anything since the Full Moon is typically a moment of culmination. From here, the moon decreases and no longer favors beginnings.

On Monday and Tuesday, it is favored to go outdoors, play sports, and celebrate. Wednesday and Thursday, we will have the opportunity to set goals and focus on work. These are days where we have more structure and rigidity; try not to confront authorities. Friday and Saturday are great for breaking free, changing routines, feeling unique, and being rebellious. Altruism and social concern are exalted. On Sunday, the energy is perfect for meditating, dreaming, and empathizing.
