As we entered lunar Scorpio... here comes the boiling water! Handle with care! Scorpio is the fire of the water, and peace never exists between these two elements (or us, for that matter). But, of course, the month of Cheshvan is ruled by Mars and co-ruled by Pluto – no peace in that either! The least we can say about Scorpios is that they are very intense, indeed. Nothing is ever gray for a Scorpio; life is either very dark or totally bright. (But, bright is rare!)
Scorpios are renowned for their amazing instincts in business and with people. But, they are, by far, the most tormented personalities of the zodiac, needing steam and challenges in their lives! Their sharp eye notices things most people never even imagined. Care should always be taken to show Scorpios strict boundaries, otherwise their desire and need for control can be extremely difficult to live with.
Because of their great inner turmoil, Scorpios often enter states of crisis, which can be destructive to those around them – particularly people they love. While a Scorpio will rise like the phoenix after a crisis, his loved ones will remain in the depth of the pit for weeks!

Scorpios are known in so many ways for their great acts of bravery and courage. In real battles of life, however, they are plagued by intense fears. In fact, they need a lot of love. But it is difficult to love them when they are so controlling and judgmental! Contrary to popular belief, Scorpios are not always right in what they see, because their fears are apt to distort reality.
In zoology, the Scorpion is practically blind, guiding himself by instinct. A mother Scorpion will carry her offspring on her back, though in a time of famine, she will actually eat them! The kabbalistic tradition defines three kinds of Scorpios. In order of spiritual growth they are the snake, the scorpion, and the eagle. There is a belief that King David, the warrior and poet, was a Scorpio.
A considerable population of Scorpios is slightly (or more!) paranoid. (Senator Joseph McCarthy was a Scorpio.) That’s why they make excellent detectives and politicians! It’s very difficult to discover a Scorpio’s lie, as they take their secrets to the grave. But they do tend to manipulate facts, or lie by omission. It’s almost impossible to know any Scorpio one hundred percent. Disclaimer: beware of a Scorpio who becomes silent. Something bad must be cooking!
