Many of us know the story of Joseph from the Bible, either because we have read it or because we have seen one of the numerous plays or movies made about it. It is a story of a man who overcame all sorts of challenges—from being abandoned by his family to being imprisoned, tempted into negativity, and losing everything he had (although he did gain it all back and more).
Some say unless a wrong is avenged there can be no peace. But what if there can be no peace unless the wrong is forgiven?
Start to Forgive
Best way to break patterns and get a fresh start is to forgive. Today, get a jumpstart on a great new year by cleaning the slate and forgiving people who've hurt you.
Lessen your judgment of others. You never see the whole picture. Never.
There are 1,000 reasons a person can behave a particular way. You don't know what is going on in their movie that motivates them to act in that way. You never know how you'd behave if you were in their shoes.
Today, little by little, learn to be more forgiving. Look to where you can come from a place of help, rather than judgment.
When we judge another person we are judging and bringing judgment on ourselves. An elevated person will not see any negativity in others.

Mistreating another person is the equivalent of sticking your finger in a socket. There are repercussions because all humans contain a divine spark in their souls.
Today, whether it be friend or foe, family or stranger, warranted or unwarranted treat people right.
Life is forgiving. No matter what you have or haven't done, you can always count on a new day and a fresh slate.
Extend that forgiveness to someone today.
Most people who are spiritual are aware of the importance of feeling compassion for others. But I believe most of us are not fully aware of the need for continuous deepening of our compassion if we are to achieve the purpose for which we came into this world.
Appreciate the small annoyances in life they have a purpose, they remove from us some level of judgment and negativity that we have created.
This week's message is a little longer than usual because the idea is a little more complicated.
Moses, and all the spiritual giants of history, held in their hands the power to push aside all forms of judgment - pain, illness, sadness - both from their own lives and from the lives of others.
Every single one of us is meant to achieve this ability in our lifetime; to come to the level where we have control over judgment, where we can say "MOVE ASIDE!" to any judgment that befalls us or those around us.
