(Based on the wisdom of Kabbalist Rav Berg’s Kabbalistic Astrology.)

The new solar year starts, as it does each year, in the middle of the month of Tevet – Capricorn. There is no escape from the simple fact that Capricorn and the three planets that are in Capricorn this year are stimulating us to do hard work and to take on new or more responsibility.

Life is giving us the indication that it’s not yet time to picnic. Life in the World of Action involves work!

For starters we want to be involved in self-examination and discovering what responsibilities we are running away from, postponing, or handing over to someone else.

Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn, is in Leo this year. We have the opportunity to climb up the ladder of personal success – more status, more authority and honor – but this requires taking on greater responsibility. And there will probably be more fights regarding control and authority matters. We could either become the boss and automatically there would be people who will rebel against us, or we could feel that our boss is trying to control us and we rebel!

At midnight on January 1st, the constellation of Libra is on the horizon with Venus, the ruler of Libra and the ruler of the map. The Libran energy comes to teach us the secret of balance. The paradox is that, in order for us to gain power and control, we need to give up completely our authority, ego, and control. Only then we can gain true control. Control over whom? Ourselves. Control over our lives and destiny can be gained only through self-control.

Four planets are in fire signs. The fire element is the ruler for the coming year. Even though we are entering a very serious year with a lot of hard work and a constant need to overcome difficulties, there still is optimism with the possibility of breaking barriers as this year sweeps us in the direction of changes.

Business: This year existing businesses can expand to other countries, getting involved in big foreign commerce, or dealing with more than one project at a time, in more than one field at a time. Business needs to be approached with a controlled daring.

Society: There is a breakthrough coming in education and social matters, with many new ideas that will dissolve old barriers and give a new social order a chance. But it won’t happen easily. The Capricorn energy is conservative, closed, and overly cautious.

Study and spirituality: Tremendous development in knowledge and research (moon in Gemini) pushes each of us to ask questions. All the answers exist; we only need to ask. More and more people around the world, from all religions and different backgrounds, are awakening the desire to understand and know the essence of life on earth, and the opening for spiritual growth is accelerated. The Capricorn energy does not give up easily on conservative dogmas of all kinds, but we are in an accelerated process that is leading towards big changes. Saturn is destroying what is false.

The correction: This year’s correction is in Pisces. The new era of great changes started on March 2003 when Uranus, the planet of change, moved to Pisces. Now the global correction is in Pisces. The big message, which all the great teachers and leaders of all religions speak about, is “love your neighbor as yourself” and don't do unto others what you hate being done to you. Once we reach this consciousness, this will lead to a world of peace and immortality.

Good luck and Shannah tovah (Happy New Year).
Tamar
