Break the Chains
Most of the world is familiar with the traditional “story” of the
Israelite’s exodus from Egypt. But The Zohar states that this “story”
contains a more subtle and meaningful interpretation than is typically
told.
The concept of freedom from Egyptian bondage really refers to the
internal bondage to our Desire to Receive for the Self Alone (ego).
What “freedom from Egypt” means is breaking the chains that hold us
captive to the whims of our selfish desires.
The original Pesach infused the universe, on the 15th day of the
lunar month of Aries, with the infinite energy of sharing. Moses
provided the Israelites with the tools to tap this awesome energy and
the energy was so overwhelming that the darkness of ego (chaos, pain
and suffering) immediately withdrew. The metaphorical shackles of
Egyptian bondage were broken.
According to the kabbalistic dictum of “no disappearance,” once an
event takes place in the metaphysical realm, it becomes available to us
each and every year.
The purpose of Pesach this year is to once again take advantage of
the Lightforce energy, and to interrupt the dominion of ego and chaos
over the world. This is the only way the energy of darkness, which
embodies chaos, pain and suffering, can come to an end.

True Freedom
Most of think we are free because we do what we want, when we want, how we
want. But are we truly free? How many relationships do we stay in
because we are afraid to be alone? How many hours do we spend chained
to desks that give us zero fulfillment because we are afraid to explore
what is out there? How much money do we spend on frivolous items hoping
they will fulfill us? This is not freedom. This is slavery.
We all have a predetermined amount of time to be here. We need to
inject life into each day by realizing our gifts and sharing them with
others. We do this by paying attention to the inner compass known as
our spirit.
The holiday of Pesach removes the interference that prevents us
from hearing the whispers of our soul. True freedom is the gift we
receive on Pesach.
May we have the awareness to open it. And the courage to live the life we came here to live.
I look forward to sharing this gift with all of you.
