Dear Student,
According to the Kabbalists, Rosh Hashanah is not simply a religious holiday or the "New Year." Rather, it is the day that Adam was created; the day that specifically marks the birth of humanity. It is the day that reminds us that it is within our power, the human race, to rewrite the script of the world for the year to come.
I'm sure it's not news to you that we are living in a critical time; a time of enormous energy and potential. The world hangs in the balance between large scale enlightenment and great negativity.
At this time, we need to step forward and exert our individual positive influences. It is our consciousness, those of us who are aware of the forces at work, that will determine which way the cosmic scales will tip.
It is written that the destiny of the world can go in one of two directions: either a big ball of fire, or each man teaching his neighbor so that all will know the power of the Light. So many have been killed in the name of religion. How many in the name of spirituality can put it back together again? Regardless of our culture and beliefs, we understand that the soul is one and that we are all hewed from the same magnificent mountain created by a divine force.
