One of the most important things on any spiritual journey is our environment.
You could have the most amazing seed that will create the strongest tree in the world, but if it’s planted in a poor soil and an unsupportive climate, it’s not going to become it’s full potential. In the same sense, you could be doing spiritual work every second of the day and working to transform yourself, but if your environment is not supportive you can’t grow.
It takes a lot more strength to be weak than it does to be strong.
The more we choose to allow our vulnerability to show and the more we reveal of ourselves, the stronger we become.
Take off the mask that hides the true you, and be in your power.
Go the extra mile in everything you do.
When you feel you have shared enough, share a little more. When you feel you have worked enough, stay an extra 30 minutes and begin the work that will need to be done tomorrow. When you give charity, give a few dollars more than you had wanted.
Our ego does not like to take the extra measure. Whenever you feel as if you want to stop, quit, or even run away, that is the time you need to gather up more strength – because there is so much more Light to be had in that instant!
Money is 99% energy and 1% physical matter.
It’s true. Think about it. It’s just paper, isn’t it? The paper is only worth something because of the value we give it. This is why people are so busy running around chasing after money. They know on an intrinsic level they’re actually chasing after the 99% Light.
Money is just as much a gift of the Creator as any other form of spiritual fulfillment. Money is a “life” energy – like love, like food, like relationships with other people. It’s infinite.
Has it ever happened that you achieve something great but then feel empty afterwards? Many times, we believe we will be happy and fulfilled once we finish a project, find our soul mate, or win the prize – only to discover that after the initial excitement settles, a tremendous emptiness sets in. A feeling of, “Well, now what?”
We think stress is a negative thing, but the truth is: Stress is actually an incredibly powerful positive force.
Stress awakens our consciousness into taking action. Stress causes us to confront situations and solve problems! It forces us to create accountability and discipline. It increases our overall desire to change and transform.
Stress is a positive opportunity to break out from where we are stuck.
There are three things that can help us to be successful on our spiritual path:
1. Be giving of your time with no agenda.
2. Engage in sharing actions without agenda.
3. Give some of the money that you’ve earned to be used for the service of others.
These may seem simple, but they are transformative actions that go a long way in destroying our ego and revealing great Light in the world.
The more you can do these three actions, the more you grow.
The Light is always sending us messages. Sometimes we just don’t know how to listen.
We spend so much time speaking or thinking about what we’re going to say next that many of us are unaware of what is happening around us.
Today’s exercise is simple, but difficult. Don’t speak for a few hours. (Unless, of course, you are in an emergency situation.)
When we quiet ourselves, we not only hear better the people around us, but we better hear the voice of our soul.
When we face our fears, we discover how insignificant they truly are and we take away the power they have over us forever.
But to do this, we have to have a real desire to transform them.
In order to have that true desire, the fear of not changing has to become greater than the fear of changing.
Make a step toward facing your fear today. If it’s a fear of flying, feel the pain that not flying brings you. If you are afraid of romantic rejection, feel the pain that of not having love.
We teach that one of the most powerful tools to regain control our lives is having certainty in the Light. Certainty that no matter what is happening, the Light is there for us to connect to. For many of us, this is easier said than done. When doubts come in, it’s a challenge for all of us.
Here’s a great secret: Use your uncertainty to work for you, instead of against you!
Doubt your doubts!
When we doubt our own doubts, we can move forward with certainty.
